Fall Conditions Sustain (Oct 15-19)

Discussion: A W US ridge pattern should continue this week with several deep but progressive troughs passing through the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast US. This should anchor a cut-off low over the SW US. At the surface this means more shots of colder and drier weather out of the NW. Most of this week looks great. Our expected periods to monitor for rain are most of Monday and the first half of Saturday. Both look light regarding precipitation.

Monday (Oct 15) high temperatures should range from mid-60s to mid-70s NNJ to SNJ. Skies should be mostly cloudy with showers possible. Winds should be light out of the S/SW. Overnight lows should range from low-40s to mid-50s NNJ to SNJ.

Tuesday (Oct 16) high temperatures should reach the mid-to-upper 50s for most. Extreme SNJ could top-off near-60. Skies should be mostly sunny. Winds should be light out of the W. Overnight lows should range from upper-30s to lower-50s NNJ to SNJ with the majority of NJ falling into the 40s.

Wednesday (Oct 17) high temperatures should range from mid-50s to mid-60s NNJ to SNJ. Skies should be mostly sunny. Winds should be breezy at times out of the W/NW. Overnight lows should range from mid-30s to mid-40s NNJ to SNJ.

Thursday (Oct 18) high temperatures should reach into the low-to-mid 50s for most. NNJ elevations might fail to escape the 40s. Skies should be mostly sunny. Winds should be light out of the NW. Overnight lows should range from near-freezing to low-40s NNJ to SNJ.

Friday (Oct 19) high temperatures should reach the upper-50s/lower-60s for most. Skies should be mixed with sun and clouds. Winds should be light out of the SW. Overnight lows should range from mid-40s to mid-50s NNJ to SNJ.

An early look at the weekend indicates some light rain earlier in the day Saturday before clearing for the evening. After that, Sunday into next week looks colder. Highs in the 50s lows in the 30s/40s type stuff. Let’s take another look in a few days. Please have a great week and be safe! JC
