Mar 9: Gorgeous Weather Alert!
Stomach bugs and doctor appointments are at records highs today and tomorrow as golf clubs, cross-trainers and grills are cleaned. We’ve endured an overall mild winter with only a few transient periods of wintry conditions but I speak for many when I say, “I’m ready for spring!”
The latest short range model guidance suggests temperatures breaking 80 today and well into the 70s tomorrow. Here’s the latest HRRR for today and NAM 4k for tomorrow during peak afternoon high temperatures:
The reason why we are enjoying this surge of warmth is due to high pressure parked off the SE US coast, as evident below on the GFS:
This high will be a main driver of southerly warmth (SW flow) through the weekend. A linear segment of precipitation could move through from the W on Friday, capable of producing rain showers but nothing crazy.
In English: Beautiful spring-like weather is here to stay through the weekend. Rain is possible on Friday. Saturday and most of Sunday look okay as of now. Some rain might move in Sunday night. I’ll have a detailed weekend outlook posted tomorrow evening with a much more confident forecast. In the meantime, enjoy the mild and gorgeous conditions and be safe! JC
