Operation Halloween Forecast – This Weekend!

It is our great honor to announce that the Southern Ocean Rotary Club and The Jersey Shore Council Boy Scouts of America have requested Weather NJ to provide their 5th annual 2016 Operation Halloween weather forecast!

Operation Halloween is a charity Halloween festival that includes both scary and kid-friendly fun that is hosted by the Southern Ocean Rotary Club and The Jersey Shore Council Boy Scouts of America. The event is held Friday and Saturday, October 28-29 at the Joseph A Citta Scout Reservation located at 229 Brookville Road in Barnegat, NJ.

FAMILY FRIENDLY FUN (4-7 PM)

Family fun at Operation Halloween

Pumpkin Street
Loaded with kids games, activities, and great food there is something for everyone on Pumpkin Street. The whole family can trick or treat, roam a hay maze, paint a pumpkin, or make their own scarecrow at one of the booths hosted by local non-profit groups. Pumpkin Street also features a bounce house and other inflatable fun.

Munchkin Hayride
The whole family can enjoy this scare-free daytime ride through the beautiful woods of the Citta Scout Reservation.

HAUNTED ATTRACTIONS (7-10 PM):

Scary Operation Halloween Stuff

Zombie Outbreak
The legions of the undead have risen and begun to feed on the living. Fear not, the ZCA has been called into action. Our team of highly trained Anti-Zombie Commandos will cover you as you make your way through infected zone to safety. What could possibly go wrong?

One Step Beyond
Ocean Acres most famous Halloween haunt has joined Operation Halloween. Take a tour through the woods where strange forces are at work and nothing is what it seems.

Jersey Devil Hayride
Climb aboard the tractor for the Jersey Devil haunted hayride and see the worst that the haunted New Jersey Pine Barrens has to offer.

WEATHER NJ SPECIAL EVENT FORECAST

Friday (Oct 28) daytime high temperatures should reach into the upper-50s. Skies should be partly sunny and breezy out of the W/NW. Winds will subside however as temperatures fall into the 40s after sunset.

Saturday (Oct 29) daytime high temperatures should just break 70. Skies should feature a mixed-bag of sun and clouds during the day but mostly cloudy skies during evening hours. Winds should be light-to-breezy out of the SW during the day and relaxed out of the SW heading into overnight hours as temperatures dip into the lower-50s.

Both days and nights look like hoodie/jacket weather. Perfect Halloween weekend weather in my opinion for an event such as this. I’ll be there so come find me in the zombie infested pine barrens. Hope to see you all there. Please be safe! JC
