Split Weekend Weather Ahead (July 25-27)

How beautiful does it feel this morning? Another cool air-mass has moved into the region but will quickly moderate for the weekend under July sun. Today and most of tomorrow look very nice but Saturday evening into Sunday could feature thunderstorms. Unsettled conditions and increased humidity will return to the region. Lets break it down.

Despite the cool start, today will reach the low -80s across the state. High pressure and lack of humidity will make for a pleasant feel. Winds will be almost stationary but could vary in direction depending on where you are in the state. Overnight lows should then fall into the upper-60s for a gorgeous summer night.

Saturday should be decent during daylight hours with afternoon highs a few degrees warmer than today. Winds will be about 5-15mph out of the SW...a good indicator that warmth and mugginess are on their way back from the Gulf of Mexico/SE US region. Overnight lows should only fall to about 70 with noticeably increased humidity.

Sunday is hit or miss. Most of the state will probably luck out with just a warm and humid day with a mixed bag of sun and clouds. Some areas, however, could see isolated showers and thunderstorms. Those locations will be random and determined at storm time. Winds will again be out of the SW at 5-15mph (higher winds under storms cells). Sunday night into Monday looks very unsettled. An early peek at next week indicates a rainy and possibly stormy start followed by another cooler air-mass dropping down from Canada.
