Nicer Conditions Expected (June 11-15)

Discussion: High pressure dropping out of Canada is currently pushing the frontal boundary S of SNJ. This should end the rain for SNJ from N to S and we should all eventually see the sun today. This high should keep us dry tonight and tomorrow. On Wednesday a near-passing low should track to our NW. This should drag a quick one-two punch warm front/cold front through NJ (close together in timing). For this reason Wednesday has a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Another area of high pressure should then approach from the W/NW and keep us warmer and drier from Thursday into the weekend. By Sunday that high should be near Bermuda and provide NJ with humid southerly flow. This weekend might be the first dry weekend in a long time. You can never rule out an isolated afternoon pop-up. But it is nice to see no widespread rain systems in the weekend forecast. Next week we bake.

Monday (June 11) high temperatures should reach the low-to-mid 70s for most away from the ocean. Coastal areas should hang in the 60s due to marine influence. Skies should become dry and sunny from NNJ to SNJ throughout the day. SNJ should be last to taper off and clear. Winds should be light-to-breezy out of the E. Overnight lows should range from upper-40s to near-60 NNJ to SNJ.

Tuesday (June 12) high temperatures should reach the low-to-mid 70s for most. Coastal areas might lean closer to 70. Interior CNJ/SNJ might lean closer to upper-70s. Skies should be mostly sunny with a pleasant feel. Winds should be light out of the SE. Overnight lows should range from mid-50s to mid-60s NNJ to SNJ.

Wednesday (June 13) high temperatures should reach the upper-70s/lower-80s for most. Skies should be partly sunny with a chance for showers and thunderstorms. Winds should be light out of the S/SE. Overnight lows should range from upper-50s to upper-60s NNJ to SNJ.

Thursday (June 14) high temperatures should reach the low-to-mid 80s statewide. Skies should be partly sunny with a drier feel. Winds should be light out of the W/NW. Overnight lows should range from mid-50s to mid-60s NNJ to SNJ.

Friday (June 15) high temperatures should reach the mid-to-upper 70s for most. Skies should be partly sunny with a pleasant feel. Only a small chance of an isolated spring shower. Winds should be light out of the W. Overnight lows should range from low-50s to low-60s NNJ to SNJ.

An early look at the weekend indicates warmer temperatures and sunshine. Saturday looks like the nicest day because of lower expected humidity. By Sunday humidity should trickle back in and set up a summery following week.
