This week should feature a mixed bag of sun, rain, breeze, and mild-to-cool temperatures—everything you’d expect from a run-of-the-mill April week. Let’s break it down:

Monday high temperatures should range from 60-70 (cooler for NWNJ/coast and warmer for interior) with rain and thunderstorms possible. Widespread rainfall should dominate the region during AM hours. An afternoon break with sun could intensify PM thunderstorms that clear out overnight. Severe thunderstorm criteria is possible when the storms come through overnight. Winds will be breezy out of the S/SW. Overnight lows should drop into the low-to-mid 50s.

Tuesday should reach the mid-60s for high temperatures. Clouds will eventually give way to sun with a stiff W/NW breeze. Overnight lows should fall into the upper 30s (NWNJ) and 40s for the rest of New Jersey.

Wednesday should reach the low-to-mid 60s for high temperatures. Expect a mixed bag of sun and clouds with afternoon instability-driven rain showers possible. Isolated t-storms cannot be ruled out at this time. Winds should be light out of the W. Overnight lows should fall into the upper 30s (NWNJ) and 40s for the rest of New Jersey.

Thursday should be cooler with highs reaching the mid-50s. Expect more clouds than sun with stiff W/NW winds. Overnight lows should fall into the 30s statewide.

Friday should be similar to Thursday with highs reaching the mid-50s. Expect a mixed bag of sun and clouds with stiff W/NW winds. Overnight lows should fall into the 30s statewide.

An early look at the weekend currently indicates dry weather with highs ranging from upper-50s to lower-60s.
