Unsettled Week Expected (Sept 28-Oct 2)

rain

The entire week looks unsettled with more low pressure riding up the coast and an expected frontal passage. It should be a nice rainmaker for New Jersey with a few inches of precipitation possible when all is said and done. Let’s break it down:

Monday high temperatures should reach the upper-70s for elevations and coastal regions (possibly 80 inland closer to Philly). Skies should feature a mixed bag of sun and clouds. Winds should be generally light out of the E/SE. Overnight lows should fall into the 60s statewide with a few sprinkles possible.

Tuesday high temperatures should reach the upper-70s for elevations and coastal regions (possibly 80 inland closer to Philly). Expect overcast skies with rain possible. Winds should be generally light out of the E/SE. Overnight lows should fall into the 60s statewide as rain chances persist through Wednesday morning.

Wednesday high temperatures should reach the mid-to-upper 60s statewide. 70 could be broken for inland areas. Expect more overcast skies with possible rain. Winds should be stiff out of the E/NE, especially along the shore where 20mph+ gusts are possible. Overnight lows should fall into the 50s (elevations) and 60s (rest of New Jersey) with rain possible through Thursday morning.

Thursday high temperatures should feel very cool, only topping out in the 50s and lower-60s. Most of the state should be partly to mostly cloudy with coastal/SNJ regions possibly seeing some remnant sprinkles. Winds should remain stiff out of the NE with gusts to 30mph possible along the coast. Overnight lows should range from 40s (NWNJ) to 50s (SENJ).

Friday high temperatures should continue to feel cooler, only topping out in the 50s and lower-60s. Unsettled skies should continue with rain possible. Winds should be gusty out of the N/NE. Overnight lows should range from 40s (NWNJ) to 50s (SENJ) with light rain possible through Friday morning.

An early look at the weekend indicates unsettled conditions continuing with cooler temperatures and more rainfall.
