Gorgeous Weekend Alert (Dec 11-13)

What can I say? High pressure situated off the mid-Atlantic US coast will drive warm flow northward into our region through Monday. Let’s break it down.

Friday (Dec 11) high temperatures should top out around 60 statewide. Expect a mostly sunny day once any overnight/AM fog bakes off. Winds should be light out of the SW. Overnight lows should fall into the upper-30s for NNJ elevations and 40s for the rest of New Jersey.

Saturday (Dec 12) high temperatures should reach the low-to-mid 60s for most of New Jersey. Elevations and coastal regions could be held to the upper-50s but interior SNJ could take a run at 70. Again, expect a mostly sunny day once any overnight/AM fog bakes off. Winds should be light out of the S/SW. Overnight lows should should fall into the upper-40s/lower-50s.

Sunday (Dec 13) high temperatures should reach the low-to-mid 60s for most of New Jersey. I wouldn’t be surprised to see someone take a run at 70+, especially interior SNJ/CNJ. Winds should be light out of the S/SW. Overnight lows should fall into the low-to-mid 50s statewide (lol).

An early look at next week indicates another warm day on Monday but with rain possible as a cold front approaches. By Tuesday the front should be through with cooler and drier air. We should then return from super-warm to just above average temperatures heading into the weekend. I’ll be tracking the Dec 18-20 storm signal but rain is currently favored over snow. El Nino is going to El Nino. Have a great weekend and be safe! JC
