Weather NJ Special Event Forecast

This Saturday looks mostly sunny and clear with a little bit of breeze picking up out of the S/SW for afternoon/evening hours. Temperatures should be about 60 and climbing when Chowderfest begins at 10am, peak around 70 in the afternoon, and then ultimately fall back into the low-to-mid 60s for the event’s 7pm conclusion. Dew point temperatures should be low (in the 50s) allowing for a pleasant and dry feel (low humidity). Some of you might feel chilly with the breeze, so not a bad idea to slightly layer with a long-sleeve over a shorter shirt. You can always lose the long-sleeve when it gets to feel a little toasty in the afternoon or throw it back on when the breeze picks up towards afternoon/evening. I’m probably just going jeans and a t-shirt but I have dad bod insulation 8). All-in-all, a beautiful day for Chowderfest. Hope to see some of you there. Be safe! JC

Purpose

Chowderfest is celebrating its 34th year! Chowderfest is a fundraiser that has been organized by the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce since 1989 to provide funding for out-of-area marketing, ongoing business/nonprofit support programming, and scholarships. It is planned and managed by volunteers of the business community through the Chamber Board and Chowderfest Committee. This event has never been produced as a for-profit venture, and always operated to positively promote the region bringing off-season dollars to expand our local economy. Spanning over three decades, the festival continues to evolve to keep the mission of reaching new audiences, raising awareness of Long Beach Island, and bringing people together for the unofficial end of summer.
