Nov 18: Brief Warm Period on the Way!

Even though it currently feels like January outside, a brief warm period is on the way for next week. Tomorrow will be cold again but we’ll start to moderate on Thursday and especially Sunday into next week. The warmth will come from the south as high pressure in the Atlantic cooperates with low pressure to our SW. We should see a 4-5 day period of temperatures in the 50s and 60s which should wrap up just before Thanksgiving. After that, colder temperatures look to return. Here’s the GFS showing the position of the high and low I mentioned before. Moisture and warmth between the two have no place to go but north:

This next map shows temperatures on Monday evening. As you can see…plenty of 50s and 60s across the state. We might deal with a bit of rain Sunday-Monday but that should be the start of the warm-up.

In English: Cold tonight and tomorrow. Slightly less cold Thursday into the weekend. Warmer Monday through Thanksgiving. Cold returns after. Be safe! JC
