A Nice Stretch of Weather

Discussion: Tuesday should be another great day like Monday. Wednesday we’ll see humidity build a little and then rain and thunderstorms likely Wednesday afternoon into early Thursday AM (slow moving cold front). This front could bring flash flooding rainfall and severe thunderstorms. Thursday looks like a slow exit of morning rain and humidity but should improve significantly by afternoon-forward. Friday through Sunday then looks rather amazing with afternoon temps maxing in the 70s, falling into the 50s/60s overnight, and all with lower humidity. Wednesday PM into Thursday AM is the only rain I’m seeing this week. Although Major Hurricane Larry could take a dangerously close pass at Bermuda this Thursday, its only US impact will be rip currents and maybe some larger swell against the US east coast this Wednesday-Friday.

Tuesday (Sept 7) high temperatures should reach near-80 for most areas. Skies should be mostly sunny with a pleasant feel. Winds should be light out of the W. Overnight lows should range from near-60 to near-70 from NNJ elevations to SNJ coasts.

Wednesday (Sept 8) high temperatures should reach the mid-80s for most areas. Skies should be mixed with sun and clouds with a more humid feel. Rain and thunderstorms are likely, especially during afternoon-evening hours. Rain downpours could produce flash flooding. Winds should be light out of the SW unless obviously under a thunderstorm. Overnight lows should fall into the mid-60s as downpour and thunderstorm chances persist into early Thursday AM hours.

Thursday (Sept 9) high temperatures should reach the mid-to-upper 70s for most areas. Skies should start cloudy with some remnant showers leftover from Wednesday night. Conditions should gradually improve throughout the day with sun breaking through by late-morning/early-afternoon. Humidity should be slow to exit but will also do so gradually. Ocean-facing coastlines of ECNJ/SENJ should respect dangerous rip currents and increased swell. Winds should be light out of the W/NW. Overnight lows should range from mid-50s to mid-60s from NNJ elevations to SNJ coasts.

Friday (Sept 10) high temperatures should reach the mid-70s for most areas. Skies should be mostly sunny with a pleasant feel. Winds should be light out of the NW. Overnight lows should range from lower-50s to mid-60s from NNJ elevations to SNJ coasts.
