Great Summer Conditions Expected

Discussion: Nothing standing out in the upper levels again. But we do have a cold front pushing through NJ that’s attached to a low in SE Canada. Still iso storm chances for the rest of this afternoon (Friday) but otherwise conditions should improve through Friday evening mostly in feel. Drier air will move in and set up a warm and pleasant Saturday under light NW flow. Sunday should see a tick up in temps and humidity but not too bad. Both days should see plenty of sun with a general relief in humidity. Saturday will feel the driest. Dew points are expected to drop to the lower-60s maybe even 50s. This should feel great after the latest stretch of upper-60s and 70s. Next week we moderate back to typical summer heat and humidity…and the iso storms possible in that environment every day.

Friday (July 21) high temperatures maxed in the low-to-mid 80s. Early morning hours saw rain and storms, but it’s been mainly tranquil outside since. With the front nearby we can’t rule out isolated-to-scattered showers and thunderstorms this evening. But it’s looking like a mostly dry front so far. The front is good news for those looking for “some, not all” relief from the humidity. Winds will shift from SW to W/NW behind the front and bring in slightly drier air. It might be later Saturday morning for the drier air to move in. So still a sticky evening leading in. But it should feel amazing once through.  

Saturday (July 22) high temperatures should reach the mid-80s for most New Jersey locations. Skies should be mixed with more sun than clouds. Humidity will be reduced from late conditions. A warm and drier feel. Winds should be light out of the NW. Overnight lows should dip to the 55-68 range from NNJ elevations to SNJ coasts. A spectacular mid-summer night.

Sunday (July 23) high temperatures should reach the mid-to-upper 80s. Skies should be mostly sunny. Winds should be light out of the W/SW. A slight increase in humidity but not horrible. Overnight lows should range from 60-70 from NNJ elevations to SNJ coasts.

An early look at next week indicates a gradual build to highs of near-90 by the weekend. Humidity should return with typical storm chances midweek. Let’s take a closer look in a dew days. Have a great weekend and please be safe! JC
