Warm Conditions Return (Sept 9-13)

Discussion: Hopefully everyone enjoyed the recent taste of fall behind Dorian’s departure. We’re about to be reminded that it’s still summer however. A few different areas of high pressure in the W Atlantic Ocean will pump a ridge over the E US this week. The ridge could even last into the weekend. This should keep us above-average in temperature with a mostly-sunny but unsettled pattern. Invest 94L continues marching W towards the E Caribbean. Another area over to the NE of the Caribbean is acting up and requires casual monitoring. I am much more interested in Invest 94L.

Monday (Sept 9) high temperatures should reach the mid-70s for most areas. Skies should be partly-to-mostly cloudy with showers possible. Winds should be light out of the E/NE, breezier near the ocean. Overnight lows should range from mid-50s to mid-60s.

Tuesday (Sept 10) high temperatures should reach the mid-to-upper 70s. Skies should be mixed with sun and clouds with a pleasant feel. Winds should be light out of the E, breezier near the ocean. Overnight lows should fall into the low-to-mid 60s for most areas.

Wednesday (Sept 11) high temperatures should reach into the 80s statewide. Interior CNJ/SNJ could take a run at 90. Skies should be partly sunny with some humidity returning. A small chance of showers and thunderstorms are possible. Winds should be light out of the S/SW. Overnight lows should fall into the mid-to-upper 60s for most areas. Coastal areas could hang near-70.

Thursday (Sept 12) high temperatures should reach well into the 80s for most areas. Interior CNJ/SNJ should reach into the low-to-mid 90s. Skies should be partly-to-mostly sunny and humid with isolated showers and thunderstorms possible. Winds should be light out of the SW. Overnight lows should range from near-60 to near-70 NNJ to SNJ.

Friday (Sept 13) high temperatures should range from near-70 to near-80 NNJ to SNJ. Skies should be mostly cloudy with a comfortable feel. Winds should be light out of the E. Overnight lows should range from near-60 to near-70 NNJ to SNJ.

An early look at the weekend indicates slightly above-average temperatures with slightly unsettled conditions. Mostly sunny with isolated shower kind of stuff. Have a great week and please be safe! JC
